Climate Change and ME

Do I think climate change can be avoided?

> hell, no.

Do I think carbon dioxide we've produced is the cause of CC?

> hell, no. It might be one of trillion factors and that means it can be neglected.

Do I think we should care about green thing?

> hell, yes, but only if we don't have to *invest* more to get a bit greener.

All in all, it's just a cycle of Nature. If what we do are bad, then Dinosaurs must have pollutedly farted much worse than we all do now to make Mother Nature wiped them all off the Earth.

Are we speeding this cycle of Nature by thinking like I do?

> Probably, no one knows for sure. For the worst, this cycle might be shortened for a year or even 100. Who cares? We all can live not that long anyway. Focus on the present! Do what make us happy.

Clearly, I don't give a shit about it. For those who do, don't do Facebooking, don't Google, don't watch anything in HD, don't own any of smartphone, don't drive a car. This way you can save a lot of energy and still live like normal people.............. I'm sure of it.

Love defines us, doesn't it?

Well, most people tend to think of love as a very big thing in life. Some might not so. But as always you will see love as a factor of a miracle which happens every now and then, esp. in the movie.

"It's only in a mysterious equation of love which any logical reason can be found." -- John Nash

People tend to let love sail you through the ocean and hope for the best. They let love define what they feel, what they would do, and everything. No wrong or right here. However, I've been struggling to think of a definition of love until recently.

I am just a regular kind of guy which don't accept a failure much. Most guys tend to not accept that he was dumped by a girl. But this time although I don't like to admit that one girl broke my heart completely, she did break mine thoroughly and unfortunately I still think of her, think of everything we've done together, think of everything she would remind me every morning and night. I just cannot get rid of those. Does this suck? Totally. But is this a bad thing? I don't know. Maybe this is love I like to find a definition for all my life. Is it too late? Probably. Funny enough; she was breaking my heart by using the phrase I always told her, "Change is always a good thing." What could I say? Good for her; she left all bad sides with me. All I could hope now is I will be able to dump her from my brain and my heart like she did that to me. But so far, I am happy to have __an imaginary part of her__ inside me always.

"Love is the extremely difficult realisation that something other than oneself is real." — Iris Murdoch

Love surely is very complicated and too plain simple at the same time. Love is unique to every single one and there is no such thing described the word love as good as love itself. That's why love will never ever show us the way to anything. We are the one defining what our love is, not the other way around.

What are we living for?

This is the question I have heard recently many many times. It’s such a simple question, yet very difficult to answer. At some point of your life, y’all have to make a decision, one way or the other.  Which one suit you better? or which one will straight your life to what you want ultimately. No one knows… until you find out on your own.

Broadly, we all are one kind of animals. Some religions might not so agree with me, but unfortunately scientifically it’s the truth. [If you can show me God or prove that we all are sharing the same gene since we all have Adams & Eve as grand-grand-grand…….. parents. I will accept that we are the special living thing, not one of animals.]   Thinking of us as animal, it’s easy to answer that we are living for saving & expanding our species--mankind. But our lives can do so much more things than that.  That’s why it’s so complicated.

By the fact that human has what others [animal] don’t (have much), brain, we probably use our brain too much [or too much less?] we all think of how to become successful people. Again ‘success’ is also a subjective word since success for one person might be only very first step of how to achieve the goal of another, or it might be the thing some would like to avoid.

It starts getting more and more confusing when talking about thought since there is no clear line to distinguish all this thing. Let’s get thing clearer and simpler. When we were young, we all have dream of being something we were not [yet to be, at least]. Super hero? Teacher? Cop? Soldier? prince/princess? or whatever you named it. That’s one thing we were living for, pursuing our dream, but again our dream keeps changing by the time or things surrounding us. Our dream mostly started from imaginary and came back down to be more realistic once we grew up. We basically have plenty of dreams in common, such as family. We all like to have healthy family and/or kids. Watching our kids grow up, but when all little kids become big boys/girls. They will have their own lives, like you have. Don’t get lost here, don’t assume that kids’ dreams are yours. You might accomplish raising your kids, but it’s only you again, what do you do for the rest of your life?

Up to this, now you know that this question is not about others, no one can answer that, but yourself, only you. It’s truly individual. The real question would be what exactly are ‘you’ living for? cut all the crap we all have to do. Sit back, relax, and ask what do you want for ‘your’ life? That likely will be what you are living for. Go get it! The faster you reach your dream, more time to go get your next dream. Well, eventually, we are living for pursuing our many many dreams, ain’t we?

What MTA NYC only think of is

Living on high expectation is hard; it gets even harder when that expectation is from people in the big city like NYC. MTA state of New York could be the very first and the most complex system on the planet earth, serving millions of people in the dream land, but one thing they couldn't have done is making it up to par. With tons of excuses: low budget? how old whole system is? inflation? What the heck they name.

Just take a look to what they did so far: increasing fare and try to increase more along with decreasing level of service. That's only what they can do I guess. NYers would have the same opinion about the fare--ridiculously high comparing to what we get--$2/ride (+1 xfer to another service [only!?] within 2hr) Even though how far it takes you, it's only $2. However, reversibly 1 stop costs you $2 too, what an expensive.

Believe it or not!!? MTA doesn't think so:-

Photo_120208_003

Well, they think this is real cheap already!!! But if you stop and think for a second of how it came up with $1.17/ride.

$81/30days * ride/$1.17 = 2.3 ride/day

By MTA assumption, riders need to take subway or bus 2.3 times a day everyday in a month. They probably think of everyone as MTA officer I guess. In fact, if they assume only 2 ride/day and only 25 day/month, fare will end up with $1.62/ride. It should be enough for showing honesty since it could save about 40% off of regular fare already. Nonetheless, they choose to show how stupid and greedy they are and that could mean what they think of is taking money from NYers, not serving them.

I dOn't eVen mention how "good" their service is..... Hurr.. What a shame in big apple.

Just a reference: NYers pay around 69% of all costs while people in cities around pay around only 40% of all costs; the rest is taken care by City or else. Part of sale tax in NYC [0.375 of 8.375%], moreover, is for MTA!!

Olympics Medals Table--Are they the same??

One more on Olympics; I just got that things we see might not be the same, depending on different views really.

Today:- Olympics Medal Table in the US!!

Beijing Olympic Medals table

US reporter: we are on top of the table since we have 79 medals in total

Yes, above is from the US! Probably Gold is not that important for them much.

However, what the world sees is: -

Seem like the WORLD has the same idea, huh??

Stop whining like a kid, the US athlete reporters.

I guess all the US thought Beijing Olympics was overwhelming since Michael Phelps did incredible efforts getting 8 gold medals for the US and their gymnastic teams has shown the great performance.

What is wrong here is He Kexin and Nastia Liukin got an identical score for uneven bar. However, He, Chinese, got the GOLD medal while Luikin, US, got only the silver one. If you are in the US, you'll know all reporters tried to use all sarcastic words to question this, even title as "WAS SHE--Luikin--ROBBED?"

At first, I was surprise as well since I have no clue what the heck "difficulty" & "execution" are and why on earth they have changed easy to understand system like ?/10. But we all want complication stuffs, aren't we? For example, TOEFL is Test of English as a Foreign Language--exclusively for the US since anywhere else could use something else. Starting from paper-based TOEFL is 550 in total, not thing complex here since it's from all part accumulation. Right is +, Wrong is nothing. Then it's computer-based which was for easier to calculate, but now it's internet-based TOEFL--nothing is related INTERNET here--the score calculation also sucks. Right could be ++, +. Wrong could be 0, -. They all depend on the order. Got it? You guys, US, like complexity--accept it.

Come back to our topic, the change of all this gymnastic score system makes it so confused, but understandable. It's just the sum of 2 parts, but I have no clue what is the maximum score anymore! If anyone know, please share. In order to compare the score:

1. more overall score ("difficulty" + "execution"") win
2. Less deductions win
3. ..... [I don't know anymore. If you know, please share]

It's just like football league point--the world's word--if you have more points, you win. If it's lucky that you have the same points, then goal different will be the judge or something else next to be able to decide who will win really. That's it!!

IMG_0125And He Kexin just got less deduction! It's fair already, no question about that.

Why you guys is still questioning judges and scoring system? You knew all that but pretending that's not fair. It's just unprofessional at all!!

Just ask yourself if Nastia Liukin won. I bet the story will be like WHOOOOOOOOA what an INCREDIBLE performance!!!!!

So, stop whining--keep working harder, your day will come. (I'm not sure if it's going to be soon though since in Olympics I see no way to win China indeed)
