What MTA NYC only think of is

Living on high expectation is hard; it gets even harder when that expectation is from people in the big city like NYC. MTA state of New York could be the very first and the most complex system on the planet earth, serving millions of people in the dream land, but one thing they couldn't have done is making it up to par. With tons of excuses: low budget? how old whole system is? inflation? What the heck they name.

Just take a look to what they did so far: increasing fare and try to increase more along with decreasing level of service. That's only what they can do I guess. NYers would have the same opinion about the fare--ridiculously high comparing to what we get--$2/ride (+1 xfer to another service [only!?] within 2hr) Even though how far it takes you, it's only $2. However, reversibly 1 stop costs you $2 too, what an expensive.

Believe it or not!!? MTA doesn't think so:-

Well, they think this is real cheap already!!! But if you stop and think for a second of how it came up with $1.17/ride.

$81/30days * ride/$1.17 = 2.3 ride/day

By MTA assumption, riders need to take subway or bus 2.3 times a day everyday in a month. They probably think of everyone as MTA officer I guess. In fact, if they assume only 2 ride/day and only 25 day/month, fare will end up with $1.62/ride. It should be enough for showing honesty since it could save about 40% off of regular fare already. Nonetheless, they choose to show how stupid and greedy they are and that could mean what they think of is taking money from NYers, not serving them.

I dOn't eVen mention how "good" their service is..... Hurr.. What a shame in big apple.

Just a reference: NYers pay around 69% of all costs while people in cities around pay around only 40% of all costs; the rest is taken care by City or else. Part of sale tax in NYC [0.375 of 8.375%], moreover, is for MTA!!

So pissed, today

I don't know why I have to be so pissed while I'm not related to this directly at all. I will tell you a story:-

Okay started at Y bought something from a popular online store. But the problem is Y hadn't checked carefully whether Y use his credit card or somebody else (in case his account has many credit cards of many people since Y are good enough to look for cheap and good stuff for others--but they have to pay on their own. Y doesn't earn even a buck from this--and never cheat). Unfortunately, the bill address & cardholder name are belongs to Y but the credit card number was not. Frankly, it just worked like there wouldn't be any problem.

Y hadn't realized that he did something wrong until C was asking if Y used C's credit card or not. Immediately Y looked at the receipt/invoice and found that credit card number was belong to C, Y gave C a cash covered everything Y spent and, surely, an apology for his fault.

Nonetheless, the day after that. C told this story to everybody around seemed like Y was so bad using C's credit without permission and said something like C would be absolutely okay if and only if Y just asked, but, in fact, Y didn't.

-_-' nothing to say for Y--he was trying to explain everything that he made a mistake and a weird issue about using his security code & his name & his billing address in order to verify that order, surely it's not C's info at all, and that had been approved.

C did NOT even listen to any of this, just kept saying, "IT'S UP ON MY CREDIT CARD" and still said that Y is suck!

You know? If someone made a mistake unintentionally and regret what he/she did and payback what he/she has to, isn't that enough? What do you really want people??? This is not happening to me, but it's very close. I don't know really if this is that much wrong. It's true that Y's the one to blame in this situation, but why doesn't C think of blaming the online store & bank that let this thing happened as well? Y did everything he could to alleviate this issue and this ultimately doesn't hurt C at all physically or financially, perhaps little emotionally. In contrast, Y's mind was destroyed completely.

A friendship might be so little enough in C's point of view, so C could ruin C-Y relationship entirely. No matter how hard it has been up to now.

Maybe I'm too close to Y, so I was very pissed for Y. I really want to know If you were Y, what will you do in this situation? and If you were C, would you do something like this? Life is too short to think, do, face bad stuffs. If things are not so big, why bother? solve it; there'll always be a way. We still have lives to live and do many things we want.

HALF FULL, people!, half full is all you (& everyone) want..

How ridicurous some NYPD are!!!!!!!!!!

Today I got a ticket from NYPD because of jaywalking on Queens Blvd (Union Turnpike). It sounds normal, but it's not. Many people crossed the street on the same line as me, but only some people got the tickets especially Black, Asian, and South American. Is it equal? Do they have prejudice?

About 4:30PM, my boyfriend and I went to Thai restaurant on Queens Blvd. by taking E train. When we left the train, we saw the exit that we always use were closed. So we had to go to the other side and crossed the street. We saw many people crossed the street at that side. Then we were following them. A policeman came to us and asked for our IDcard, and we gave them immediately. I asked him what was happening, and he said I crossed the street on the prohibit way. And, I accepted that it's my fault. I believe in laws and I graduated from laws school in my hometown, Thailand. Therefore, I think that's fine for me. I respect the laws, and also I expect officers who run the laws to use them equally.

Just about 5 minutes left, we saw a large group of people crossed the street like we did, but 3 policemen ignored them. What is that? And there were a lot of people crossed that street after that, but the cops didn't give them any tickets. The thing is groups which including any white people didn't get the ticket. Is it racial discrimination? Is it acceptable in this country? Is it fair?

Every people who got the tickets tried to ask the cops about this, but they escaped by closing all the car's windows and staying in there. In addition, when one of the policemen got out of the car in order to give a black woman ticket written already, there were about 4-6 people crossed the street on the same line. The woman asked him whether he saw them and why he didn't give them the tickets as her. The policeman said nothing and went back to stay in the car. My boyfriend and I ask another cop when he gave us the tickets how about people who were crossing the street (in the same line) at that time. He said he wrote our tickets, so he couldn't do another job at the same time. However, 2 policemen just sat in the car to see many people crossed the street like the way we did, and the reason they gave us the tickets.

"...All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights......"

"...Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty......."
(from http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html)

Are all these words just ideal?

I plan to get into laws school here, the US, in order to study about International Human Rights Law. I have chosen this country because there are a lot of tries to promote and to make the world be concerned about human rights, yet this situation makes me disappoint. I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of good policeman here. Don't let a bad part of your organization makes all of you be dirty!!
